Hi everyone, it’s me again – Pierre.
I hope you’re all keeping safe and well. I’m finally pretty much over my scary COVID experience. I’m back to playing with all of my toys and chasing my tail even though my Mom says I’m much too old to be chasing my tail. Obviously she’s never done this or she’d know how much fun it is – I have a built in toy!
Every day my Mom sneaks up on me when I’m having my daily 8 hour nap and grabs my foot and starts going on about how cute my toe beans are. I had no idea what she was talking about so I started looking at the pictures on Facebook and I see what she means. Toe beans are those little pads on my feet and yes, mine are very cute.
I complain a lot when she wakes me up to snuggle me and play with my feet but secretly I like it. Let’s face it – there are many homeless cats who don’t have a place to sleep let alone someone who loves them enough to like their stinky feet.
On that note – I wanted to mention a charity that’s very important to me and my family. On the little island that my Dad comes from there is a pet rescue known as The Caye Caulker Animal Rescue. Kenny who runs it does a great job and all of the animals are well taken care of until they find homes for them. Years ago the way stray animals were dealt with in Belize was awful. On January 2nd every year the government would come and put out poison and kill as many of the stray animals as they could to get rid of them. Now that there is a shelter on the island this doesn’t happen anymore. This shelter is not supported by government funding and since COVID has stopped all travel to the island they don’t have the usual amount of donations from the tourists. Please follow this link and donate to the shelter. The animals really need your help! I will send a free book and a tshirt to anyone who can show me they contributed.

Thank you everyone!
