Hi everyone, It’s me again, Pierre.
I hope you’ve all been enjoying your Covid summer. For us pets it has been a great time because a lot of us have family working from home and we have lots of company.
I had a big surprise this summer. My Aunt Margaret came and visited me. I wasn’t quite sure I’d like sharing my bedroom with someone else but she was very nice to me and scratched me the way I like any time I asked her to….even at 3 am. She even shared some of her chicken with me at supper time.
If you remember, I was debating whether or not I should go on vacation with my mom and dad and my aunt. I was still pretty undecided when my Mom had bad news. The hotel they were staying at, which said it was Pet Friendly, did not allow cats to stay there. Only dogs. I’m a pet – I’m very well behaved. I never scratch the furniture and only go to the bathroom in my litter box. Why was I not allowed to stay there ? This is species discrimination. If they meant Dog Friendly they should say that. Not Pet Friendly. Does that mean gold fish are not allowed either??
So I had to stay home. I was very lucky that my friend Bobbie could come and visit with me every day. She watered my plants in my garden just like I showed her how and together we made sure my home was safe and looked after while my family was away.
To be honest, I was a little scared when my Mom said they were going to see a ghost town. I’m afraid of ghosts. And when they showed me a picture of a ghost in the window (look inside the circle on the picture of the old house) I was secretly glad I didn’t go meet one. So in the end, I guess it worked out for the best but still, I feel discriminated against. Dogs – please – they’re not even close to being as clean and well behaved as I am!

Cats rule — dogs drool
Well I kind of drool too haha
That you do especially when you are scratched behind the ear!
I’m shocked, Pierre! If they had met you they would have changed the rule. Also, ghosts are more afraid of you than you are of them.
I think the hotel needs to rethink its term ” Pet Friendly “. Indeed you are a pet! This is unfair! Even Timbit agrees!
I hope you get to go to a “cat friendly” hotel soon Pierre! Hotels are fun but sometimes smelly. Just so you know.
I’m sorry to hear you missed vacation but I think you had a great time at home!! And you are right about cats being super clean!?
Remember, Pierre, dogs have masters and cats have servants.
I agree Pierre . Cats do far less damage than dogs I’m sure you would have just curled up and snoozed on your moms pillow !
Probably much more comfy at home though 🙂
So not fair. You’d be the perfect guest.
